• Remove the disc blade and adjust the
placement by adding or removing
adjusting washers, or if replacing the
disc, simply install the new disc in the
reverse order above.
NOTE: Typically, from factory setting,
the adjusting washers equal a total of
four (4) utilized for proper disc
spacing. The orientation will vary
from one (1) on the outside of the disc
and three (3) on the inside of the disc
(3/1), OR a combination of 2/2 or 1/3
respectively. Use your best
judgement, however it is best
recommended to start with 3/1 washer
placement as first described in this
notation. Further adjustment will be
determined once the opposite disc
blade is inspected for adjustment
and/or replacement.
Scraper
There is a scraper mounted between the
opening discs. This scraper prevents sticking
and blocking of the discs.
There are two (2) scrapers, one (1) for each disc,
attached to the row unit frame as well.
Disc Scraper
During operation check the scrapers at regular
intervals for wear, at least once every week.
Inspect the disc scrapers any time during
inspection and service of the disc blades as well.
It is recommended when replacing disc blades to
replace the scrapers at the same time.
For all repairs and maintenance work requiring
the machine to be raised, the machine needs to
be supported properly. Do not work under a lift,
inadequately secured machine.
Always wear adequate protective equipment for
all repair and maintenance work.
