Wear and Inspection of Metering
Disks
Damaged or worn metering disks and parts must
be replaced immediately.
Defective parts can be recognized by:
•
Uneven disks or bent teeth (1)
•
Formation of burrs or grooves (2)
•
Rounded or broken out edges (3)
•
Non-circular holes (4)
Defective Metering Disk
Vacuum Adjustment
The possible vacuum range is specified in the E-
Manager, in the crop parameter menu.
Depending on grain shape, weight, metering disk
and application conditions, changes will be
required.
As a rule of thumb, the required vacuum level will
be higher when using slot type discs compared
to that of hole type discs.
The effect of this vacuum
adjustment only becomes
apparent by testing.
Stabilization Disk
The stabilization disk is placed behind the
metering disk.
Stabilization Disk
The stabilization disk stabilizes the metering
disk. Shims may be placed behind the
stabilization disk for compensating possible
tolerances.
Always leave the shims in the same metering
unit and do not change the quantity of shims.
