7.2 Uncoupling the
machine
WARNING
Risk of accident by uncoupling the crop protec-
tion sprayer with the folding boom unfolded!
Negative drawbar load can cause the machine
to tip over!
WARNING
Danger of crushing, cutting, being pulled in,
being caught and impact caused by inappropri-
ate stability and tipping over of the hitched up
machine!
When uncoupling the machine you should
always ensure sufficient free space in front of
the machine, so that you will be able to back
the tractor up to the machine when you have to
couple the next time.
WARNING
Danger of crushing between tractor and crop
protection sprayer when uncoupling!
Before uncoupling the towed sprayer have
persons leave the danger zone between tractor
and machine.
Any helpers present should only act as guides
next to tractor and crop protection sprayer and
should only step between the vehicles after
stopped.
Procedure
1. Park the empty machine on a horizontal park-
ing area with solid ground.
2. Engage the parking brake of the crop protec-
tion sprayer by means of the crank.
3. Secure the machine with wheel chocks
against rolling away.
4. Extend the hydraulic parking support.
5. Disconnect the PTO-shaft pump from the
tractor (optional).
6. Disconnect hydraulic and electrical connec-
tions and hook into bracket devices.
7. Disconnect brake lines.
8. Close the coupling heads of the supply and
brake lines.
9. Uncouple the crop protection sprayer from
the tractor.
10. Drain water from the air reservoir and close
the hose couplings, if the machine is not used
for a longer period of time.
11. With hydraulic brakes the pulling cable of
the parking brake must be detached from
the tractor.
7.2.1 Manoeuvring the uncoupled
machine
DANGER
Special caution must be exercised during ma-
noeuvring work with released service brake
system since the towed sprayer is now braked
solely by the shunting vehicle.
The machine must be connected with the shunt-
ing vehicle before the releasing valve on the
trailer brake valve is operated.
The shunting vehicle must be braked.
NOTE
If the air pressure inside the air vessel drops below
3 bar (e.g. because of several actuations of the
releasing valve or leakages in the brake system),
the service brake system can no longer be oper-
ated via the releasing valve.
To release the service brake:
¾
fill the air vessel.
¾
completely drain the brake system through
the drainage valve on the air vessel.
