WARNING – security for life
!
don‘t use the winch to lift something (vertically).
!
brake system: The winch has a drum brake that acts from the inside on the rope drum and is
triggered automatically. The brake shoes are similar to the ones in a car and do also weare
out (depending on load and operating hours). Therefore, never use the winch rappel down
any person or object.
!
do not use it as an elevator.
!
try never to open the winches. In this case, the warranty expires.
!
never operate the winch with less than five rope rows around the drum. The rope could detach from
the drum as the rope attachment to the drum is not designed for such a load!
!
perform a visual and functional check before each winching operation.
!
don‘t use the winche to pull or move people in any way.
!
position yourself and others at a safe distance sideways from the rope when it‘s under tension.
!
never step on a rope and never go near a rope under load.
!
make sure the circuit breaker is easily accessible. The switch must be in the workspace.
!
set the circuit breaker to OFF, (in the engine compartment) if the winch is not used.
!
make sure no unauthorized people can operate the winch.
!
don‘t let the rope slide through your hands.
!
make sure your hands are never less than 25cm away from the rope window.
!
always use gloves during the winch process.
!
use the safety band on the hook around the rope to wrap or unwrap.
Winch attachment
!
the winch must be tested for their ability to operate before installation.
!
the winch must be installed on a rugged steel frame. This should be flush horizontally and vertically.
Winch must be bolted at the four designated points. It is very important that the winch is on a flat
surface, so that the three units (engine, rope drum and gearbox) are aligned.
!
make sure that the installation area withstands the traction power of the winch. Attaching the winch
can affect the trigger holding of the SRS airbag.
!
Check that attaching the winch system to your vehicle is approved by the manufacturer.
!
the electrical connection must be carried out by a professional. No liability can be assumed for any
damage caused to the on-board electrics.
Correct handling with the rope
!
never connect the rope to yourself (constrictor knot).
!
the rope could break before the engine blocks. For heavy loads of or near nominal capacity, you
should use a roll block/pulley to reduce the load on the rope.
!
do not exceed the specified maximum traction.
!
to wrap the rope correctly, you should leave a light tension on the rope. While pressing the “cable
in” button walk towards the winch and avoid the rope sliding through your hands. Make sure your
