Chapter 6
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
This chapter explains how to perform daily meter maintenance and how
to deal with error messages.
Daily maintenance is vital in assuring accurate measurement and
preventing breakdowns before they occur. Maintenance of the
electrodes is especially important; if ignored, various problems and
erroneous measurements may result. This pH meter is equipped with a
convenient error message function. If an error message is displayed, be
sure to take appropriate action.
6.1
pH (ORP) electrode maintenance
Maintain your electrodes by referring to the following information or to
the operation manuals for the electrodes.
The following explanation is for pH electrodes (9621-10D) ORP
electrodes should be cared for in the same manner.
●
Maintenance after daily use
After taking measurements, wash the electrode using pure water (de-
ionized water), wipe off the water from the electrode with filter paper or
tissue paper, and store it with its cap on.
The liquid junction may become clogged if the electrode is left in distilled water.
Injury warning
Glass fragments can cause injury.
The outer tube of the electrode and the tip of the
electrode are made of glass. Use care not to break
them.
