Replacing the cleaning beads/Cleaning and or replacement of the mesh filter
Suggestion of the bead choice
Two types of cleaning beads are attached within the sensor unit. Normally glass beads are
used for cleaning. If the metal coating on the cathode surface is insistent, ceramic beads are
recommended. The ceramic beads clean better but on the contrary ceramic beads abrase and
deform the electrode faster than the glass beads, the life time of the electrode will be
shortened. Choose suitable beads taking the necessity of cleaning and life time into
consideration.
Note
All beads in a capsule should be transferred into the measurement cell pot. If the amount of
beads is not enough, cleaning efficiency will be reduced.
Keep the O-ring (S30) for reuse when the bead cell is removed.
Used beads should be removed throughly and feed new beads for replacement.
Replacing the cleaning beads
Periodically replace the cleaning beads (about every three months).
Operation
1.
Turn OFF the converter.
2.
Close the root valve to shut off the sample.
3.
Loosen the two thumbscrews located at the bottom of the beads cell, remove the
beads cell, and then draw it out toward you.
Receive water dropped from the measurement cell by a bucket.
Keep the O-ring (S30) for reuse.
