This section explains possible reasons why the Symphony clock may not properly
synchronize.

The computer network should update the Symphony clock automatically. The Symphony then updates the
panel clock.

If your clock is not synchronizing, check the following:

1.

How to find out if it is synchronized

2.

Check your network connection

3.

You must have a common ground

How to find out if it is synchronized

If you touch the time display, you will enter a mode to allow you to change the clock. At the bottom will be
an indication of whether you are synchronized with the network clock.

Check your network connection

Do you have a good network connection?  (To verify, run Diagnostics in the Advanced Set-up screen)

You must have a common ground

Connect a common ground connection between the power supply powering the Symphony keypad and the
control panel keypad ground.

With Network Connection:

The AUI checks in with the server every 10 seconds and will get the current GMT time (the time zone is
selected under time and date setting of the AUI. (5 for Eastern Time Zone, - 8 for Pacific Time Zone).  If
the AUI and GMT time differ by 10 seconds or more, the AUI time will be reset.

The Symphony will also send time to the control panel every hour.  This 1-hour timer starts on power-up or
when Sync to Network is selected if it was not set at power-up. This is true for all panels that support the
AUI (20P series, 128/250BP series, 128/250FBP series, and FA1660C & 1700C as well).

Without Network Connection

The AUI will sync the panel time and date when you set the time and date on the AUI, but it WILL NOT
sync the time and date on other AUI consoles that are on the system. Setting the time, cycling power, or
exiting programming on the panel DOES NOT sync the AUI time and date with the panel.

This is true for all panels that support the AUI (20P series, 128/250BP series, 128/250FBP series, and
FA1660C & 1700C as well).

General Information

The Symphony keypad has a User Set-up that allows the user to add a code on the control panel and/or as
an Internet user on the Symphony keypad. It lets you program the user code on any user number allowed by
the control panel as any authority level. The user must also be given a name.
