!
OVERRUN LIMIT SENSOR DOES NOT PROVIDE CORRECT TIMING
•
Install the overrun limit sensor so that the magnet is attached to a component, such as the
crankshaft, that always moves with the motion of the press, regardless of the condition of the
resolver or the resolver’s drive mechanism. Safe operation of the press depends on the
overrun limit sensor’s correct operation when the resolver or its drive mechanism fails.
•
Install the overrun limit switch magnet in the correct angular location according to the
instructions in this manual.
Failure to comply with these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
The overrun limit switch, also known as the overrun limit sensor, provides a signal to WPC
at the same point on every stroke. This enables WPC to check the resolver’s operation. If,
for some reason, the resolver is no longer rotating at a 1:1 ratio with the crankshaft, WPC
receives the signal from the overrun sensor at an unexpected point in the stroke. WPC then
signals an emergency stop and displays an error code. This kind of error can occur when the
resolver drive chain breaks or slips, or if the resolver is broken.
