APPLICATIONS:
This filtering half mask is manufactured for COVID-19 protection only. As requested by
World Health Organization recommendations, for this specific use, the nominal protection factor given by this
filtering half mask is the same than the FFP2 nominal protection factor defined in EN 149:2001+A1:2009.
This filtering half mask is not a filtering half mask for general use and shall not be used for purposes other
than protection against COVID-19.
LIMITATIONS:
Do not use this mask to enter or stay in an area where: • oxygen concentration is less than
17% (oxygen-deficient atmospheres) • contaminants and/or their concentrations are unknown or
immediately dangerous to life or health • aerosol concentration exceeds levels fixed by applicable health and
safety regulations or Protection Factor x WEL • gases and/or vapours are present • with open flames because
it is not flame resistant. Do not use this mask in explosive atmospheres.
HOW TO PUT ON A MASK:
(1)
The nose clip should face outwards
and upwards when holding the mask on each end of its ear bands;
(2)
Wear the mask and place the chin inside the chamber. Pull the
ear bands over both ears;
(3)
Adjust until you feel comfortable and
the mask clings to the face:
(4)
Use the index finger and middle
finger of both hands to adjust the nose clip until it clings to the
nose bridge;
(5)
Conduct a tightness test, as shown in Figure 5:
• Cup the mask in both hands and keep the mask still. • Try to
inhale and hold your breath for several seconds; and you will feel
that the mask collapses inwards. • Try to exhale and hold your
breath for several seconds: and you will feel that the mask expands
outwards. • In case of air leakage, please repeat Steps 1-3 above
until the requirements of both 2 and 3 are satisfied. • A mask
cannot meet the requirements of protective-rating airtightness
until the test results of step 1-3 above live up to expectations.
The mask has maximum effectiveness when it is worn on direct contact with bare skin. It is unlikely that
the requirements for leakage will be achieved if facial hair passes under the face seal.
USE:
(1)
Take a new mask from its box.
(2)
Check visually that the mask is undamaged and stored protected
against contamination before each use.
(3)
Fit the mask and check leak-tightness before entering the
contaminated area.
(4)
Wear it for the whole duration of exposure to contaminants.
(5)
Discard it and replace
with a new one if: • it is removed while in a contaminated area • excessive clogging causes breathing difficulty
or discomfort • it becomes damaged. Do not alter the mask. Leave the contaminated area if dizziness,
irritation or other distress occurs.
The filtering half mask shall not be used for more than one shift.
STORAGE:
