9.4.1
Standard connection with indirect actuation through the fire detection control panel (in
accordance with EN 54-13)

Standard connection of the Automatic Purging Unit F-BO-AFE70 to the FDCP and to an ASD,
via a monitored line. All components are only shown as schematic diagram, with the exception of
the Purging unit.
A … Aspirating smoke detector (in order to provide a clearer overview, only the connections that
are absolutely necessary for the Purging unit are shown)
The two relay contacts are shown in the state where no voltage is being provided to the
relays.
B … Power unit (observe the country-specific regulations for the power supply of aspirating
smoke detectors and special detectors)
C … Fire alarm message to the fire detection control panel (observe the connection conditions
for the fire detection control panel used)
D … Fault message to the fire detection control panel (observe the connection conditions for the
fire detection control panel used)
E … Actuation output on the fire detection control panel (observe the connection conditions for
the fire detection control panel used)
This output is used to start the Purging processes if the ASD experiences a fault.
Manual Purging activations can be carried out by manipulating operating devices that are
intended for this purpose, provided that this feature has been prepared by the installer of the
system.
F … In addition, the fault output of the F-BO-AFE70 can optionally be connected to the fire
detection control panel in order to transmit the fault of the AFE70 itself (through wire
breakage of this fault detector line).
9.4.1.1 Output „Slave activation“
This dry output is used if one or more „slave“ unit(s) F-BO-AFE70 is/are to be actuated by the
„master“ unit F-BO-AFE70. The „slave“ units start virtually at the same time as the master unit. If
a device number has been set on the master unit, it will be evaluated, a device number that has been
set on a slave unit will have no effect.
