Quick Reference for When You're in a Hurry
The following sections provide a quick reference to XILON's most important
functions for users who already have some familiarity with the device's operation.
Power On
There are two ways of switching ON XILON. You can either
•
press the green
<START>
key or
•
plug in the power supply.
Depending on the history (i.e. whether or not the database is empty), a pair of
welcome screens will then appear.
Identifying Individual I/O Modules using the Service Pin
Pressing the
<ENTER>
key while the "Service Pin" item has the focus causes
XILON to wait for a service pin message from a node. Alternatively, the
<F2>
hot
key can be pressed. You can then press the service pin of the node to be included
in XILON's database.
Once the "Service Pin" function has been successfully carried out (i.e. XILON has
received a service pin message from a node), the corresponding node is entered
into XILON's database automatically, and such functions as "I/O Functions" and
"All Automatic" can then be utilized, as desired.
Honeywell I/O Functions
Pressing the
<ENTER>
key while the "I/O Functions" item has the focus enables
you to perform wiring checks on Distributed I/O modules and/or Excel Smart I/O
modules.
Power OFF
There are two ways of switching OFF XILON:
From the toolbar menu:
When the toolbar menu is active, you can switch OFF
XILON by going to "device menu" by pressing the
<F10
> hot key. To get to the
toolbar menu from other menus, you can use the
<ESC>
key to go up one level
every time the key is pressed. If the status line displays "F10=Menu", the
<F10
>
hot key can be used to go immediately to the toolbar menu. After the
<ENTER>
key is pressed, a CRC checksum will be calculated and XILON will then be
switched OFF.
From the tree view menu:
It is also possible to switch OFF XILON from the main
tree view menu.
<ENTER>
must be pressed while the item is focused. The
<ESC
>
key can be used to go to the main tree view menu from lower levels. Every time the
<ESC
> key is pressed, you will rise one level in the menu.
