INSTALLATION

1.

Select a suitable area in the control panel where
the mounting will not interfere with testing or
servicing of other components.

2.

Clip the Battery Sense Module to the cabinet edge.

CONNECTIONS

1.

Refer to the Connections Diagram on other side.
When connecting leads, support the module to

prevent stress on the circuit board.

2.

Connect the module's power leads to the control
panel's 12VDC backup battery power terminals.

3.

Connect backup battery A to the module.  Then

connect backup battery B (if present) to the module.

4.

If only one backup battery is being used, depress

the ENROLLMENT switch to toggle the Battery

Sense Module to sense only one battery.

ULC

When used with one battery and the total
load is greater than 1.5A, jumper the

Battery A terminals and the Battery B

terminals on the Battery Sense Module to
the backup battery.

5.

For non-Honeywell control panels, connect the

ZONE OUT to an unused control panel zone.

(Do

not use a fire zone.)

Note:

For Honeywell control panels, DO NOT

connect a zone to the ZONE OUT terminal on
the BSM.  The Honeywell control panel will

automatically detect a low or missing battery
through the panel's battery cable.

6.

Affix the supplied

 Summary of Connections

 label to

the inside of the control panel.

CONFIGURATION

1.

Refer to the control panel's installation guide for
details on fault monitoring.

2.

For non-Honeywell control panels, program the
connected zone for the Battery Sense Module to

detect an active high fault condition.
