Engine Oil & Filters

Refer to 

Safety Precautions

 on page 115.

Your Honda SXS’s oil filter has very specific performance 
requirements. Use a new Honda Genuine oil filter specified for your 
model or a filter of equal quality.

NOTICE

Using the wrong oil filter may result in leaks or engine damage.

This procedure requires mechanical skill and professional tools such 
as a torque wrench, and access from underneath the vehicle, as well 
as the means for disposing of the drained fluid (page 221). If you do 
not have the skills or the tools, see your dealer.
Your Honda SXS is equipped with two oil filters: an engine oil filter 
and a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) oil filter.
When changing the engine oil, also change the engine oil filter.
Also change the DCT oil filter for every two times the engine oil is 
changed.
