INSPECTION

Suspend the EOT sensor in a pan of engine oil on an
electric heating element and measure the resistance

through the sensor as the water heats up.

• Soak the EOT sensor in engine oil up to its

threads with at least 40 mm (1.6 in) from the bot
tom of the pan to the bottom of the sensor.

• Keep the temperature constant fo r 3 minutes

before testing. A sudden change of temperature

w ill result in incorrect readings. Do not let the

therm om eter or EOT sensor touch the pan.

If the resistance is out of range, replace the EOT

sensor.

INSTALLATION

Install a new sealing washer and EOT sensor.

Tighten the EOT sensor to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 14.5 N m (1.5 kgf-m, 11 Ibfft)

Connect the EOT sensor 2P connector.

Install the radiator reserve tank (page 7-17).

EOP SENSOR

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Remove the right side cover (page 3-14).

Disconnect the EOP sensor 3P connector.
Remove the EOP sensor.
