FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
Make sure the
engine stop switch
is turned to "Q ."
Reading DTC with the MIL
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch to OFF.
Remove the main seat (page 3-4).
Remove th e d u m m y connecto r and sh o rt DLC te rm i­
nals using the special to o l.
TOOL:
SCS connector
070PZ-ZY30100
CONNECTION: Brown - Green/yellow
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch to ON, read, note the MIL
blinks and refer to the tro u b le s h o o tin g index (page
6-14).
NOTE:
If llit; ECM lias any DTC in its m e m o ry, the M IL w ill
start blinking.
CLEARING DTC
Connect the HDS Pocket Tester to the DLC (page 6-12).
Clear the DTC w ith the HDS w h ile the engine is stopped.
To clear the DTC w ith o u t HDS, refer to the fo llo w in g procedure.

NOTE:
• The DLC m ust be ju m p e d w h ile the M IL lights. If not, the M IL w ill n o t sta rt blinking.
• Note th a t the self-d ia g n o stic m e m o ry cannot be erased if the ig n itio n sw itch is tu rn e d "O FF" before
the MIL starts blinking.
CIRCUIT INSPECTION
INSPECTION AT ECM CONNECTOR
• A lw a ys clean aro u n d and keep any fo re ig n m ate­
rial aw ay from the ECM co n n e cto r before discon­
necting it.
• A fa u lty PGM-FI system is often related to poorly
connected or corroded connections. Check those
connections before proceeding.
• In testing at ECM connecto r (w ire harness side)
te rm in a l, alw ays use the test prove. Insert the
test prove into the connecto r te rm in a l, then
attach the digital m u ltim e te r probe to the test
probe.

B row n and Green w ire te rm in a ls o f the DLC
using the special tool.

Turn the ig n itio n sw itch to ON.
Remove the special to o l w ire fro m the DLC.
The MIL w ill lig h t fo r a p p ro x im a te ly 5 seconds.
W h ile the MIL lights, s h o rt the DLC term inals
again w ith the special to o l. The self-diagnostic m e m o ry is erased if the m a lfu n ctio n in d ica to r goes o ff
and starts blinking.
R em ove the m ain seat (page 3-4).
T urn the ig n itio n sw itch to OFF.
