CRANKCASE/TRANSMISSION/BALANCER
Remove the dowel pins [1] and oil orifices [2].
Clean any sealant off from the crankcase mating
surface.
Clean the oil orifices in solvent thoroughly.
Check the oil orifices for clogs, and replace them if
necessary.
TRANSMISSION (NC700X/XA/S/SA)
REMOVAL/DISASSEMBLY
MAINSHAFT/COUNTERSHAFT
Separate the crankcase halves (page 14-7).
Remove the countershaft assembly [1].
Remove the dowel pin [2] and countershaft bearing set
ring [3].
Disassemble the countershaft assembly.
Clean all disassembled parts in solvent thoroughly.
• Keep track of the disassembled parts (gears,
bushings, washers, and snap rings) by sliding them
onto a tool or a piece of wire.
• Do not expand the snap ring more than necessary
for removal. To remove a snap ring, expand the
snap ring and pull it off using the gear behind it.
Remove the mainshaft bearing set plate bolts [1] and
set plate [2].
