Engine Stop Switch
PKA/VKA/VLA TYPES
Remove the engine stop switch (
Wide terminal:
•VLA type: There should be continuity when the plunger is
pushed in.
•PKA/VKA types: Not used
Narrow terminal:
•There should be continuity when the plunger is released.
•There should be no continuity when the plunger is pushed
in completely.
Replace the engine stop switch if the correct continuity
test results are not obtained.
VYA TYPE
Remove the engine stop switch (
Narrow terminal:
•Not used
Wide terminal:
•There should be continuity when the plunger is pushed in
completely.
•There should be no continuity when the plunger is
released.
Replace the engine stop switch if the correct continuity
test results are not obtained.
IGNITION COIL AIR GAP ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment is required only when the ignition coil or flywheel
has been removed.
Remove the fan cover (
).
Attach the ignition coil and leave the bolts slightly loose.
Insert a long 0.3 mm thick feeler gauge between the ignition
coil and the flywheel and push the coil firmly against the
gauge while tightening the bolts. Confirm the gap is within
spec.
• Avoid the magnet
• Both gaps should be adjusted simultaneously
