Fuel Tank Removal

Removal
1. Turn the fuel valve OFF.
2. Remove the seat (page 36).
3. Remove the shroud A bolts/collars (1).
4. Remove the shroud B bolts/collars (2) and
shrouds (3).

5. Pull the breather tube (4) out of steering stem
nut.
6. Unhook and remove the fuel tank band (5).
7. Unhook the air cleaner cover rubber (6).
8. Remove the fuel tank bolt (7).

9. Disconnect the fuel line (8) from the fuel
valve (9). The fuel line leading to the
carburetor must be disconnected, not the fuel
line leading to the fuel tank.

WARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive. You can be burned or
seriously injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat, sparks
and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Wipe up spills immediately.

10. Remove the fuel valve bolt (10) and fuel
valve.
11. Remove the fuel tank.
