3. Loosen the vapor separator drain
screw by using a commercially
available flat tip screwdriver.
4. With the outboard motor turned to
the starboard side, tilt the outboard
motor up. Keep the end of the drain
hose below the level of the vapor
separator drain screw, and watch
for the fuel to start flowing out the
drain hose.
5. After the fuel starts flowing out the
drain hose, tilt the outboard motor
down and allow the vapor separator
to finish draining.
6. After draining thoroughly, tighten
the drain screw securely.
7. Clip the drain hose on the head
cover.
8. Drain the fuel tank into an
approved gasoline container, or if
you need to store fuel in the fuel
tank, you can extend fuel storage
life by filling the fuel tank with
fresh gasoline and adding Honda
Marine fuel stabilizer following the
directions on the container.
Engine Oil
1. Change the engine oil and the oil
2. Remove the spark plugs (p. 70),
and remove the emergency stop
switch clip from the emergency
stop switch.
3. Pour 1 – 2 teaspoons (5 – 10 cm
3
)
of clean engine oil into each
cylinder.
4. Rotate the engine a few revolutions
to distribute the oil in the cylinders.
5. Reinstall the spark plugs (p. 72).
Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive.
You can be burned or seriously
injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat,
sparks, and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
