Children up to about one
year old should be restrained in a
rearward facing, reclining child
restraint system. Only a rearward
facing child restraint system
provides the proper support to
protect an infant’s head, neck, and
back. See page
for additional
information on protecting infants.
A child who is too
large for a rearward facing child
restraint system, and who can sit up
without support, should be
restrained in a front facing child
restraint system. See page
for
additional information on protecting
small children.
The manufacturer of the vehicle
does not assume any responsibility
for damage which would be caused
by a defect inherent in the recom-
mended child restraint system.
Make sure the restraint system fits
your child. Check the manufacturer’s
instructions and labels for height and
weight limits.
