If the Shift Switches Do Not Function

If one or both shift switches do not function, see the following
instructions. If proper function cannot be restored, see your Honda
dealer.
When the engine is running:
When the engine is stopped (ignition switch at ‘‘ON’’ ( )):
Turn the ignition switch to the ‘‘OFF’’ ( ) position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ‘‘ON’’ ( ) position.
Press both shift switches and check that they are functioning.
If both switches are functioning, shift into neutral and restart the
engine.

When the battery is low (or dead):
See page .
Stop the ATV.
Turn the ignition switch to the ‘‘OFF’’ (
) position.
After the engine stops, turn the ignition switch to the ‘‘ON’’ ( )
position.
Press both shift switches and check that they are functioning.
If both switches are functioning, shift into neutral and restart the
engine.
