Servicing Your Honda
Improper installation of the oil f ilter can cause
serious engine damage.
Improper disposal of drained f luids is harmf ul
to the environment.
Remove the oil filter ( ) from the cover.

Reinstall the oil filter cover, making sure the
bolts are tightened securely to the specified
torque.
Oil filter bolt:
Position the spring ( ) against the engine
crankcase and install a new oil filter with the
rubber seal ( ) facing out, away from the
engine. You should see the ‘‘OUT-SIDE’’
mark ( ) on the filter body, near the seal.
Check that the oil filter cover O-ring ( ) is
in good condition.
Discard the oil filter in an approved manner
