Precision feed
•
Press the lever height adjustment milling
head in direction to the milling head (1).
•
Turn the handwheel precision feed (2) to
realize the precision feed.
•
By the next usage of the lever height
adjustment milling head the precision feed
will be deactivated.
18.5.3
Swivel milling unit vertically
•
The milling unit can be swivelled 90° (± 45°).
•
Loosen (but do not unscrew!) the clamping nut (1) on the
turntable and turn the milling unit to the desired position.
•
The degrees can be read off the scale swivel milling unit.
•
Then retighten the clamping nut firmly.
18.6
Setting spindle speed
NOTE
Never change the direction of rotation or speed, as long as the motor / spindle is not at
a complete standstill! Changing the direction of rotation / of speed during operation
may lead to the destruction of components.
The correct spindle speed is important for safe and satisfactory results and for maximizing tool life.
To set the spindle speed correctly, do the following:
•
Determine the optimum spindle speed for the machining task in question and
•
Set the machine control so that the required spindle speed is actually reached.
18.6.1
Speed milling spindle
The milling spindle speed is selected by the selector
lever speed milling spindle
(1) on the milling head and
by the speed controller (2).
When the selector lever speed milling spindle
is set to position "L", lower speed ranges are
available. When the selector lever speed milling spindle
is in position "H", higher speed ranges can
be selected.

General working instructions
•
Clean all clamping surfaces and tool holders before setting up.
•
Clamp the clamping device well on the cross table. If a clamping device is already clamped
on the cross table, check whether it is tightened properly.
•
Deburr workpieces before clamping and check for parallelism, if necessary.
•
Always clamp the workpiece securely and firmly.
•
Select the correct values (cutting meter, speed and direction of rotation, feed rate and
cutting depth) and set them correctly on the machine.
•
Pay attention to up cut milling or climb milling.
