17.1.3
Site requirements
Place the lathe on a solid surface. A concrete floor is the best foundation for
the machine. If necessary, use an underframe (load capacity ≥ 2000kg/m
2
).
The machine has mounting holes that allow the machine to be fixed to a
workbench or machine table.
The space required by the machine and the required load-bearing capacity
of the subfloor result from the technical data (dimensions, weight) of your
machine. When designing the working area around the machine, observe
the local safety regulations. When dimensioning the required space, take into account that the
operation, maintenance and repair of the machine must be possible without restrictions at all
times. The selected installation location must ensure a suitable connection to the electrical mains.
17.1.4
Assembling
The machine is pre-assembled, the parts removed for transport must be assembled according to
the following instructions and the connection to mains have to be made.
Assemble drill chuck
•
Degrease all parts.
•
Remove cap (1).
•
Insert the draw bar (2) into the bore of the spindle.
•
Place the drill chuck arbor (3) and let the fixing bolt (6) with a
slight rotation of the spindle snap into the spindle.
•
Fix the drill chuck arbor (3) on the draw bar by using the open
wrench (4).
•
Remove the clamp bolt.
•
Place the drill chuck (5) on the drill chuck arbor and fix it with
a rubber hammer using a careful punch.
•
For easier assembly, the spindle guard (7) can be removed by
loosening the fastening screws (8).
•
Remove the drill chuck arbor with a gentle punch on the end
of the loosened draw bar.
Note:
When removing the drill chuck arbor, always secure it with
one hand to avoid uncontrolled dropping!
17.1.5
Aligning / leveling the machine
NOTE
Inaccuracies in the levelling of the machine lead to uneven loading of the gearbox,
spindle, ball bearing, etc. Negative effects on the service life of the machine are the
result. Therefore, align the machine carefully. Once the machine has been fixed, the
tolerance of horizontality allowed for operation of the machine is 0.04 per 1000mm, to
be measured in the transverse and longitudinal directions.
Use a precision spirit level or dial gauge to level the machine. If necessary, install a vibration
damper.
