Driving with trailer
This procedure describes how to drive the tractor with a trailer. The C992 tractor is suitable for towing
the following trailers:
Technically permissible trailer weights
Permissible gross weight
Non-braked trailer weight
2500 kg / 5511 lb.
Trailer weight with independent braking
4000 kg / 8818 lb.
Trailer weight with overrun braking
4500 kg / 9920 lb.
Trailer weight with independent power-operated braking
up to 12000 kg / 26455 lb.
The following trailer combinations are permissible:
l
Tractor with single-axle trailer, braked or unbraked
l
Tractor with single-axle trailer, braked or unbraked, followed by trailer with two-axle overrun
brake.
l
Tractor with two-axle trailer, braked, followed by trailer with two-axle overrun brake.
l
The total length of the combination may not exceed 18 m.
Warning
Risk of accident due to improper trailer coupling
l
Secure trailer against roll-away.
l
Do not allow people to be present between the tractor and the trailer.
l
Completely close trailer coupling after coupling.
l
Drive especially carefully when operating with trailers because the braking distance is increased.
l
Do not drive faster than 25 km/h with a trailer not requiring licensing.
l
Mark trailer with a sign indicating 25 km/h.
l
The supporting load must be at least 25 kg (4% of the trailer load).
l
The maximum supported load must not exceed 800 kg.
l
The specified coupling load must be guaranteed during loading and unloading of the trailer.
l
Undercutting of exceeding the supported load must be balanced out.
If you disregard these guidelines, there is a possibility of serious or fatal injuries and damage to the
tractor.
