13. Make sure the vacuum separator is lowered,
then remove the latches on the top of the
separator and swing the lid open.
14.
Inspect and clean the vacuum filter. Replace
the filter if necessary.
15.
With the filter in place, clean the seal, then
close and clamp the lid.
16. Inspect the blades on the separator drum.
Replace if worn or damaged.
17. Lower the separator to the full down position
if necessary.
18. Remove and store the remote switch control.
19. Perform the shutdown procedure to deactivate
work mode and place the truck in transport
mode.
Repair any problems found during dumping opera-
tions before returning the truck to service.
3.9 Routine Shutdown
The shutdown procedure should be followed each
time the water blasting system is deactivated and
the truck is shifted from work mode to transport
mode.
Shutdown Procedure:
1. Stop the truck and set the parking brake.
2. Set the TRUCK SPEED and HEAD ROTATION di-
als to 0 and make sure the truck engine speed
is set to 2000 RPM with the PTO engaged.
3. Shutdown high pressure water to the blast
head by turning OFF the DUMP VALVE switch.
4. Turn the HEAD ROTATION switch OFF.
5. Reduce the auxiliary engine speed to idle and
allow it to run at idle speed for a couple of
minutes to cool internal engine components.
6. Shutdown the auxiliary engine and UHP pump.
7. Turn CHARGE PUMP switch OFF.
8. Allow the vacuum blower to operate for a
couple of minutes after shutting down the aux-
iliary engine and high pressure water system
to clear waste water from hoses and dry out
the vacuum system and blower. Then turn the
VACUUM ON/OFF switch OFF.
9. Turn the SEPARATOR and DIRTY WATER
switches OFF.
10. Reduce the truck engine speed to idle with the
PTO still engaged.
11. Turn the FLOAT SWITCH OFF.
12. Raise the Hog Arm until it is in the horizontal
position.
NOTICE:
THE FLOAT SWITCH MUST BE OFF BEFORE THE HOG ARM
CAN BE RAISED.
13. Lift the forward caster wheel support arm of
the Hog Head slightly to align the holes for the
articulation hinge safety pin and insert the pin.
14. Raise the Hog Arm to the full UP position and
insert the safety pin.
15. Slide the Hog Arm assembly IN to the transport
position and secure with the safety pin.
16. Raise the hydrostatic drive wheel and insert
the safety pin.
17. Move the TANK/SEPARATOR switch to the
SEPARATOR position and plug the remote
switch control into the grey receptacle near
the switch.
18. Use the switches on the remote control to
lower the separator to the transport position.
Then remove and store the remote switch
control.
19. Turn the truck PTO switch OFF to disengage
the PTO and hydraulic system.
20. Release the parking brake and drive the truck
normally.
