5.1 Lubrication
You should become familiar with the location of all
components that require frequent lubrication and
include them in the routine maintenance schedule.
Some of these lubrication points require special-
ized lubricants. Refer to the Lubrication Chart in
this section and the component manufacturer’s
operating manuals for lubrication specifications
and maintenance schedules.
5.2 Truck Maintenance
Engine and Chassis
Proper engine and chassis maintenance is essen-
tial to the proper performance and reliability of
the Stripe Hog truck. You should perform all rec-
ommended maintenance according to the manu-
facturers’ specifications. Maintenance schedules
and procedures are outlined in the truck owner’s
manual. They should be followed exactly.
Section 5:
General Maintenance
Tool Boxes
• Periodically lubricate all hinges and latch as
-
semblies with a light oil.
• Periodically clean and coat gasket materials
with silicone to help keep them pliable.
• Adjust latches as necessary.
Hydraulic Cylinders Hinge Fittings
Grease the hinge fittings for the hydraulic cylinders
with a general purpose grease weekly.
Pulley Pillow Block Bearings
Grease weekly. (below passenger side of cab)
OMSI Drive PTO
Maintaining the fluid levels and performing routine
maintenance is extremely important in OMSI Drive
system. Maintenance schedules for the OMSI
Drive are outlined in the OMSI Drive operating
manual included with your SH5500. They should
be followed exactly.

A. Hog Head and Hog Arm
E. Grease Debris Tank Door Hinge Pins
B. Lubricate Belt Tension Bolts for Blower and UHP Pump F. Lubricate Debris Tank Door Clamps
C. Oil Tool Box Door Hinges and Latches
G. Lubricate All Ball Valves
D. Grease Drive Shaft Splines & Universal Joints
H. Grease Debris Tank Tilt Hinge Pins
