Hobbico 905 AC/DC Multi-charger Instructions
Charging Instructions:
1.
Connect the AC power cord to a 110V wall outlet.
2.
Connect a 6-cell (7.2V) or 7-cell (8.4V) battery pack to the white charge plug. Use the SA-BEST
supplied adapter to connect to your battery's red and black plug.
3.
Make sure the battery is discharged prior to fast charge. See “Discharge Instructions” below before
proceeding to step #4.
4.
Make sure the CHARGE/DISCHARGE switch is in the CHARGE position (do not change the
position of this switch once a battery is connected). Rotate the timer dial in a full clockwise direction
to begin fast charge. For best results, refer to the following chart when charging your battery. Your
battery should have a capacity rating listed on its label. The charge time for your battery should be
determined by its capacity rating, as follows:
Pack Rating
Charge Time in
Minutes
1200-l400mAh
15-20
1500-l700mAh
25-30
Note:
SA
-
BEST batteries are 1500 mAH. The pack will become warm during fast charge (this is
normal).
WARNING!
Do not leave your charger unattended when charging a battery. If the battery
becomes hot during charge, disconnect it from the charger immediately! Failure to do so may cause
the battery to explode, causing harm to your charger, battery or yourself.
5.
When fast charge has ended, the meter will drop to near zero and trickle charge will automatically
begin. The battery is now ready for use, or may be left connected to the charger indefinitely in trickle
charge to maintain a fully charged state.
Discharging Instructions:
1.
Move the 905’s CHARGE/DISCHARGE switch to the DISCHARGE position (remember, don't
change the position of this switch with a battery connected).
2.
Turn the timer clockwise to begin the discharge mode.
3.
Monitor the 905’s ammeter, making sure the needle deflects far into the area on the left marked
“discharge.”
4.
As soon as the needle falls between 1.5 amps discharge and 0, your battery is adequately discharged.
WARNING!
Do NOT allow your battery to discharge further if the needle falls between 1.5 amps
and 0. This could cause an over-discharge situation and cause irreparable damage to your battery.
5.
Make sure the battery cools down adequately after discharge before proceeding with fast charge (go
back to step #4 in “Charging Instructions”).
