Degree of Protection
The degree of protection designation in accordance with EN 60034-5 (IEC 60034-5), EN 60529
(IEC 60529) and other related standards is described using the letters “IP” and two digits, e.g.
IP65.
IP = International Protection

digit = protection against the ingress of foreign bodies

nd
digit = protection against water
The validity of DIN 60034-5 refers to water as medium that can potentially enter, and not oil.

For this motor type, power connector and encoder connector are not satisfied with IP65, motor
through shaft section need to add oil seal which is optional for all types of AC servo motor.
