Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform F400 Service Manual Download

If applicable, remove the SFPs from the failed component and insert the

SFPs into the replacement FED.
a. Pull the SFP lever down toward you and pull out the SFP. If you cannot

remove the SFP, pull it out while pushing open the lever toward you.

b. Check the SFP insertion direction and insert the SFP into the port until

it clicks.

Insert the new front end module into the slot, just before the "shield

finger."

Gently push the front end module all the way into the slot.

Tighten the two blue screws to secure the front end module.

Confirm that the red

STATUS

LED on the front end module goes off.

Connect the cable to the new front end module.

Next steps

• Use the maintenance utility to restore (unblock) the front end module.
