Additional Installation/Replacement of Network Interface Boards
The same method of installing/replacing a network interface board is applied for all the
GR4000 models.
You can install or replace a network interface board without powering off the device.
When installing or replacing a network interface board into or from the device while
powered on, you must input the required command from an operation terminal. As for
the commend to be input, refer to the GR4000 Operations Guide.
5.7.1 Additional installation/replacement of single-size NIF
WARNING: THE REPLACEMENT OF A NETWORK INTERFACE BOARD SHOULD BE
DONE BY A TRAINED ENGINEER OR A QUALIFIED MAINTENANCE PERSON.

Caution: Do not touch the electronic components on the solder side of a network
interface board. To avoid damage, always store these components in approved
anti-static bags.

NOTE: When installing another network interface board, remove the dummy panel.
Store the removed dummy panel safely, so that it doesn’t get bent or lost.
(1) Detachment of a network interface board
Step 1
Remove the interface cable from the network interface board targeted for
replacement. (As for the detachment of an interface cable, refer to the section 4.10
Connecting Interface Cables to the GR4000.)
Step 2
Loosen the screws of the network interface board.
