2.2 Hard Disk Drive Assembly
For the following procedure a single HDD carrier is used to depict the procedure for servic-
ing the hard disk drive assembly.
Removing an HDD Tray Assembly
1. Press the HDD tray assembly handle button (A).
2. Pull the HDD tray assembly handle open (B).

3. Pull the HDD tray assembly out of the system.
CAUTION!
Do not operate the system without all hard drive trays inserted into the chassis. All hard drive
bays must be occupied by either a hard drive or an empty hard drive tray. Hard drives may be
removed while the system is operational but should be immediately replaced by another hard
drive or an empty hard drive tray.
WARNING!
Repairs should be perfomed by a certified service technician. Damage to the system or com-
ponents due to unauthorized servicing is not covered by the warranty agreement.
WARNING!
Make sure the tray handle is in the fully open position before attempting to pull the tray out
of the bay. Damage may occur if the tray is not fully unlocked. To prevent damage while
servicing, do not hold the HDD module by the ejector handle.
WARNING!
Do not remove the near HDD trays at the same time.
