Installation (Fig. 12, 13)
(1)
Insert the flange assy into the motor case. At this
time, the wing of the flange assy should face the
motor case side. Next, align the holes of the flange
assy and the motor case, insert the Allen wrench 4
mm, and then turn to tighten the flange assy.

Screw the nylon head directly to the threaded
fastener of the motor case.

CAUTION
Install the nylon head properly and securely as
instructed in the handling instructions.
If not attached properly or securely, it may come
off and cause injury.
The mounting nut of nylon head is left-hand-
threaded. Turn clockwise to loosen/
counterclockwise to tighten.

Adjustment of line length
(1)
Rotate and tap the nylon head on the ground.
Nylon line is drawn out abt, 1-3/16”(30 mm) by one
tapping. (Fig. 14)

CAUTION
The case must be securely attached to the cover.
Check the cover, case and other components for
cracks or other damage.
Check the case and button for wear.
If the wear limit mark on the case is no longer
visible or there is a hole in the bottom of the
button, change the new parts immediately.

The nylon head must be securely mounted to the
threaded fastener of the motor case.
For outstanding performance and reliability,
always use Hitachi nylon cutting line. Never use
metal wire rope and the like that could become a
dangerous projectile.

If the nylon head does not feed cutting line
properly, check that the nylon line and all
components are properly installed. Contact your
Hitachi dealer if you need assistance.
