Anti-aliasing filter
An input signal causes aliasing if it includes the maximum frequency component higher than half
the sampling frequency. Countermeasures against aliasing includes using a low-pass filter that
eliminates frequency components higher than half the sampling frequency. This low-pass filter is
called the anti-aliasing filter.
The figures below shows the effect of use of an anti-aliasing filter for a square wave input
waveform.
