Connecting CAN/LIN Interfaces
12.2 Connecting CAN/LIN Interfaces
1
Connect CAN/LIN interfaces to the instrument using a USB cable.
Any USB ports of the instrument are available to connect CAN/LIN interfaces.
Only one CAN interface can be connected to the instrument. Do not connect more than one CAN interface.
Some CAN interfaces can perform measurement involving up to four channels (C1 to C4).The CAN interfaces
are assigned the channel numbers C1, C2, C3, and C4 to in the order in which they are detected.
Hioki has verified proper operation of the following CAN/LIN interfaces:
•
VN1630, VN1640 (CANpiggy 1051cap/1057Gcap): CAN FD, High-speed CAN (up to 4 ports)
•
VN1610: CAN FD, High-speed CAN (2 ports)
• VN1611: LIN, High-speed CAN
2
Turn on the instrument.
3
Disable the system protection function.
See “13 Configuring the System Environment Settings” (p. 309).
4
(Only when connecting CAN/LIN interfaces for the first time)
Use Vector Driver Disk, which came with the CAN/LIN interface (VN1600 interface), to install
the CAN/LIN driver on the instrument.
See the instruction manual that came with the interface to install the driver.
5
Connect a USB mouse to the USB port.
From this time through step
17
, you can use the USB mouse for settings.
6
Click
> [Channel] > [UNIT] > [CAN/LIN] > [Driver]
.
