CAN/LIN Measurement Function
Using the CAN/LIN measurement function, the instrument can record all CAN/LIN signals that
transmit through a CAN/LIN bus and display user-selected signals as waveforms.
To use this function, the Vector VN1600 interface is required.
The CAN/LIN measurement function cannot be used in the following conditions:
• When the memory division is set to
[On]
• When the dual sampling is set to
[On]
• When the external sampling is set to
[On]
Up to 1,000,000 frames can be obtained through the CAN/LIN measurement. If the number of
obtained frames reaches this number during measurement, the instrument will stop obtaining
following frames, but continue the measurement until the set recording time has elapsed.
Main features
• All CAN signals transmitting through a CAN bus can be recorded.
• All LIN signals transmitting through a LIN bus can be recorded.
• CAN FD, CAN, and LIN are supported.
•
All of hardware configuration you have to do to record CAN/LIN signals is connecting the Vector
VN1600 interface to the instrument’s USB port. You do not need to change the existing input
module configuration. The instrument becomes capable of recording CAN/LIN signals without
removing inserted input modules.
• The instrument, which has four ports independent from one another, can connect to networks of
various CAN/LIN bus types or baud rates.
• You can choose signals to be displayed as waveforms from recorded CAN/LIN signals. Up to 16
CAN/LIN signals can be simultaneously displayed as waveforms.
•
Up to 300 CAN/LIN definition data sets can register for displaying CAN/LIN signals as waveforms.
•
Files (DBC/LDF files) created with the Vector database CANdb can be directory loaded. Loaded
definition data can be used without any process. You can also modify definition data contents.
•
The instrument can send CAN messages and acknowledgments responding (ACK) to CAN
messages, allowing you to perform a simple simulation.
•
You can configure all the settings with the instrument.
