9. Navigate to “Braille EDGE” and press Vo-Shift-Up to stop interacting with the table.
10. Navigate to “Remember this device” and press Vo-Space to check the box.
11. Navigate to “select” and press Vo-Space” to activate it.
12. VoiceOver asks for the pairing code and places you in the edit box.
13. Type 0000 and press “Enter”.
You should hear a chime indicating VoiceOver has connected to your QBraille XL and you should begin
seeing VoiceOver output on the Braille display.
Using the QBraille with IOS devices
Use the following instructions to connect the QBraille as a Bluetooth Braille display with your iPhone,
iPad, or iPod, first ensuring QBraille is in Pairing Braille Mode.
Note:
These instructions refer to the iPhone, however, they apply to all compatible i-devices: iPhone
3Gs and higher, iPad, and iPod Touch 3G and later.
On the i-Phone:
1) Navigate to Settings/General/Accessibility/VoiceOver/Braille.
2) If Bluetooth is not activated on the I-Phone, it will prompt you to do this. WHEN Bluetooth is
activated, the I-Phone searches for devices.
3) The QBraille should appear in the list of available Braille devices under the name “BrailleEDGE.
4) Double tap it in the Braille devices list.
5) You should hear a chime on the iPhone, and the text displayed on the iPhone should appear on the
Braille display of your QBraille.
*Note: to use Hybrid Mode, place the QBraille in Pairing Keyboard Mode, and connect it as you would a
normal Bluetooth keyboard. Once done, press the Mode key to turn Hybrid Mode on.
Using the QBraille with BrailleBack for Android.
In order to use BrailleBack, you must first download and install it to your Android device from the
Google Play store.
