6 Operation
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
6.1 Switching on or off
Switching on
1. Press and hold down the switch-on interlock and press the on/off button.

You can release the switch-on interlock as soon as you have the on/off switch held down.
Switching off
2. Release the on/off switch.

The switch-on interlock jumps automatically into the locked position.
6.2 Sawing along a line 8
The base plate has cutting line indicators for straight cuts (0°) A and bevel cuts (45°) B . The edge of the line
indicator corresponds to the inside of the saw blade.
Saw only flat workpieces that offer a big enough contact surface to accommodate the whole of the
base plate.
1. Position the workpiece so that the saw blade is free to rotate beneath it.
2. Secure the workpiece to prevent movement.
3. Hold the saw in position with its base plate on the workpiece.

Saw blade clear of the workpiece.

5. Guide the saw along the cutting line at a suitable speed for it to cut smoothly through the workpiece.
6.3 Using the saw on the guide rail
6.3.1 Rip cuts (cutting angle 0°) 9
Use the guide rail adapter for a saw with a small base plate.
1. Secure the guide rail with 2 screw clamps.
2. Set the saw on the guide rail with the 0° groove mark on the rib of the guide rail.
3. Switch the tool on. → page 13
4. Advance the saw along the guide rail to make the cut through the workpiece.
6.3.2 Bevel cuts (cutting angle 1° to 50°) 10
Use the guide rail adapter for a saw with a small base plate.
WARNING
Risk of collision when making bevel cuts! Collision between saw blade and guide rail.

Set the saw on the guide rail with the correct groove engaging the rib of the rail. The saw blade will
otherwise collide with the guide rail.
1. Secure the guide rail with 2 screw clamps.
2. Set the cutting angle for bevel cuts.
3. Set the saw on the guide rail with the 1°­50° groove mark on the rib of the guide rail.
4. Switch the tool on. → page 13
5. Advance the saw along the guide rail to make the cut through the workpiece.
