DHCP
Dynamic host configuration protocol: protocol simplifying the
configuration of IP networks by automatically assigning IP addresses
DHCP client
Requests from the DHCP server the IP address, subnet mask,
gateway address and other parameters for the Ethernet
communication
DHCP server
Provides the assignment of IP address via DHCP protocol as a
service to other network participants and facilitates the IP address
assignment essentially
