Hillstone SG-6000 X-Series Hardware Reference Guide
Cabinet Airflow Requirements
When an appliance is mounted in a cabinet, you must ensure the ventilation through
the cabinet conforms to the following rules:
Ensure that the ventilation of the cabinet itself is sufficient enough to dissipate
the thermal output of the appliance.
Ensure that the exhaust hot air will not re-circulate the chassis.
Routes of all cables be arranged to minimize the blockage of airflow of the
chassis.
Rack Requirements
Hillstone SG-6000-X series products are designed to be installed in a 19-inch rack
(four-post).
Rack Size and Strength
The rack rails must be spaced widely enough to accommodate the chassis external
dimensions: 442.0mm wide, 715.0mm (doesn’t include the depth of lever) deep and
797.0mm high. The rack should be strong enough to support the weight of a fully
configured device which is approximately 194.0kg.
Rack Clearance Requirements
When planning the installation site, make sure the surroundings of the rack have
sufficient clearance for ventilation and maintenance operation.
For better heat dissipation, the air flow around the chassis should not be
blocked. Allow certain clearance between the chassis and other non-heating
surface (like a wall) around the chassis.
For personnel to operate the device (like moving or installing hardware
components), there must be adequate space around the chassis. At least 1.1m
is required in front of the chassis and 76.0 cm behind the back.
Rack Mounting Requirements
Make sure the rack is secured to the structure of the building. If the geographical area
is subject to earthquakes, bolt the rack to the floor. For maximum stability, you can
secure the rack to the ceiling brackets.
Unpacking
This section provides guidelines for you to unpack the device before installation,
