Preventive Maintenance
WARNING:
Only facility-authorized maintenance personnel should perform
preventive maintenance on the CarePorter™ Cart. Preventive
maintenance performed by unauthorized personnel could result in
personal injury or equipment damage.
The CarePorter™ Cart requires an effective maintenance program. We
recommend that you perform annual preventive maintenance (PM) and testing
for Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
PM and testing not only meet JCAHO requirements but will help ensure a
long, operative life for the CarePorter™ Cart. PM will minimize downtime due
to excessive wear.
The following PM schedule guides the technician through a normal PM
procedure on the CarePorter™ Cart. During this PM process, check each item
on the schedule, and make the necessary adjustments.
Follow the PM schedule with the corresponding PM checklist. This checklist is
designed to keep a running maintenance history and subsequent repair costs for
one CarePorter™ Cart. However, your facility can modify this checklist or
design another to fit your needs. Keeping close records and maintaining the
CarePorter™ Cart are two effective ways to reduce downtime and ensure the
patient remains comfortable.
