
Removing and replacing an expansion board
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, electric shock, or damage to the equipment, remove power from the
server by removing the power cord. The front panel Power On/Standby button does not shut off system power. Portions
of the power supply and some internal circuitry remain active until AC power is removed.
Procedure
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Disconnect any external cables that are connected to the expansion board.
4. Do one of the following:
•
Extend the server from the rack.
•
Remove the server from the rack.
6. Disconnect any internal cables that are connected to the expansion board.
7. Release the full-length expansion board retainer.
8. Remove the PCIe riser cage:
•
Remove the primary PCIe riser cages
•
Remove the secondary and tertiary PCIe riser cage
9. Remove the expansion board.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
