7 Maintenance / cleaning
Maintenance and cleaning work should only be implemented
by specialist personnel. These personnel are to be provided
with personal protective equipment (e.g. protective gloves).
Important!
According to EN 60204-1 a person is understood to be a
specialist if they
- are able to use their professional training, knowledge and
experience as well as knowledge of the relevant standards
to assess the work they have been assigned and
- are also able to identify any potential dangers.
Important!
Before maintenance and cleaning work, you must observe
section 3.5 Shut off procedures.
Only use appliances and tools that are expressly intended
for this work.
Clean and maintain the pump at regular intervals. This will
ensure trouble-free operation of the pump.
Danger!
The rotating impeller can cut or crush
hands and arms.
Allow the impeller to come to a com-
plete standstill.
Secure the pump from rolling and top-
pling over.
Notice!
Pumped media can be hazardous to health.
Always wear personal protective equipment such as protec-
tive gloves and glasses.
The pump is subjected to vibrations during operation, which
can cause the screw and clamp connections to become
loose. Inspect the pump at regular intervals for any loose
connections (recommendation is every 6 months for a single-
shift operation). Remove any dust deposits and impurities
on a regular basis.
Caution!
Injuries may be caused when maintain-
ing and cleaning the pump.
Observe the safety regulations and
the generally recognised “codes of
practice”.
7.1 Maintenance
When conducting maintenance and repair work watch out for:
- crushing hazards and
- dangers caused by electric current.
Decontaminate the pump after pumping any media that is
hazardous to health.
Warning!
When the pump is removed from the
pipe network there is a risk of toppling
which can result in serious injury.
Secure the pump during transport us-
ing separate lifting accessories.
Only set up the pump on a sufficiently
solid surface that is level in all direc-
tions. Also secure it to prevent it from
toppling over.
