Tilting the working plane through axis angle:
PLANE AXIAL
Application
The
PLANE AXIAL
function defines both the slope and the
orientation of the working plane and the nominal coordinates of the
rotary axes.
PLANE AXIAL
can also be used on machines that have
only one rotary axis.
The input of nominal coordinates (axis angle input) is
advantageous in that it provides an unambiguously
defined tilting situation based on defined axis positions.
Spatial angles entered without an additional definition
are often mathematically ambiguous. Without the use
of a CAM system, entering axis angles, in most cases,
only makes sense if the rotary axes are positioned
perpendicularly.
Refer to your machine manual.
If your machine allows spatial angle definitions, you can
continue your programming with
PLANE RELATIV
after
PLANE AXIAL
.
Programming notes:
The axis angles must correspond to the axes present
on the machine. If you try to program axis angles
for rotary axes that do not exist on the machine, the
control will generate an error message.
Use
PLANE RESET
to reset the
PLANE AXIAL
function. Entering 0 only resets the axis angle, but
does not deactivate the tilting function.
The axis angles of the
PLANE AXIAL
function are
modally effective. If you program an incremental
axis angle, the control will add this value to the
currently effective axis angle. If you program two
different rotary axes in two successive
PLANE AXIAL
functions, the new working plane is derived from the
two defined axis angles.
The
SEQ
,
TABLE ROT
and
COORD ROT
functions
have no effect in conjunction with
PLANE AXIAL
.
The
PLANE AXIAL
function does not take basic
rotation into account.
