Importing and exporting tool data
Importing tool data
Refer to your machine manual.
The machine tool builder can define update rules that
make it possible, for example, to automatically remove
umlauts from tables and NC programs.
Using this function you can simply import tool data that you have
measured externally on a presetting device, for example. The file
to be imported must have the CSV format (
c
omma
s
eparated
v
alue). The
CSV
file format describes the structure of a text file
for exchanging simply structured data. Accordingly, the import file
must have the following structure:
Row 1
: In the first line you define the column names in which
the data defined in the subsequent lines is to be placed. The
column names are separated with a comma.
Other lines
: All the other lines contain the data that you wish
to import into the tool table. The order of the data must match
the order of the column names in Line 1. The data is separated
by commas, decimal numbers are to be defined with a decimal
point.
Follow the steps outlined below for importing:
Copy the tool table to be imported to the
TNC:\system\tooltab
directory on the hard disk of the control
Start expanded tool management
Press the
TOOL IMPORT
soft key in the tool management
The control shows a pop-up window with the CSV files that are
saved in the
TNC:\system\tooltab
directory
Use the arrow keys or mouse to select the file to be imported
and confirm with the
ENT
key
The control shows a pop-up window with the content of the
CSV file
Start the import procedure with the
EXECUTE
soft key.
