Examples of turning cycles
Roughing and finishing an outside contour
The shaded area from
AP
(
Start point contour
) to
EP
(
End point
contour
) is rough-machined with the "Cut longitudinal—expanded"
cycle, taking oversizes into account. This contour area is to be
finished subsequently with the "Finishing cut longitudinal—
expanded" cycle.
The rounding arc and the oblique cut at the contour end are both
machined in
expanded mode.

parameters determine the cutting and infeed directions—in this
example, external machining and infeed in negative X-axis direction.
