Touch probe (tool touch probe)
Refer to your machine manual.
Your machine manufacturer enables this function.
Finding the tool dimensions by using a touch probe:
In the tool table, enter the tool you want to measure
Insert the tool and enter the tool number in the
TSF
dialog
Press the
Measure tool
soft key
Press the
Measure probe
soft key
Pre-position the tool for the first measuring
direction
Set the positive or negative traverse direction
Press the soft key for this direction (e.g. –Z
direction)
Press the
NC start
key
The tool moves in the measuring direction.
When it contacts the touch probe, the control
calculates and saves the set-up dimensions.
The tool returns to the starting point.
Pre-position the tool for the second measuring
direction
Press the soft key for this direction (e.g. –X
direction)
Press the
NC start
key
The tool moves in the measuring direction.
When it contacts the touch probe, the control
calculates and saves the set-up dimensions.
For turning tools, enter the cutting edge radius
and load it into the tool table
