Following servicing of the boiler the relevant sections of the ‘Benchmark’ Installation,
Commissioning and Servicing Log Book, found at the back of these instructions, must be
completed and the combustion ratio checked via the access port on the
fl
ue elbow. For NG
and LPG, emission values should be as given technical data table in section 2. The CO/CO
2
ratios should be less than 0.004.
18.1 Central Heating and Flue Sensor
•
Read the notes at the head of this section before commencing any work on the
appliance.
•
The Flue sensor is located on the plastic
fl
ue socket. (Figure 32)
•
The Central heating ntc sensor is located on the pipe. (See
fi
gure 1)
•
Disconnect the leads from the sensors.
•
Remove the sensors from the pipe/plastic
fl
ue.
•
Fit replacement sensors.
•
Fit the leads to replacement sensors.
CAUTION!
While there are no substances harmful to health contained within this appliance, some
component parts of the boiler (insulation pads, gaskets and rope seals) are manufactured
from man made
fi
bres. When damaged or broken these
fi
bres may cause a temporary
irritation. High dust levels may irritate eyes and upper respiratory system. It is important
therefore, that sensible precautions are applied when exchanging components.
NOTE:
1.
Ensure that both the electrical and gas supplies to the boiler are isolated
before replacing any component part.
2.
To prevent the need to drain the entire heating system when replacing
the boiler’s integral pump, expansion vessel, safety relief valve and pressure sensor, the
boiler’s hydraulic circuit may be isolated from the central heating circuit by closing the
boilers isolation valves below the boiler. Opening the plastic drain cock, which is located
below the boiler and behind the pump, will then drain the boiler’s hydraulic circuit.
If the water does not drain freely open the manual vent on top of the boiler.
3.
For replacement of the following components it will be necessary to remove
the boiler casing panels as described in Section 17.
