The boiler HDG Turbotec is designed for standard operation
involving the burning of wood fuel products made from untreated
wood (according to 1.BlmSchV, §3 (1) item 4) in the form of split logs
with a maximum length of 1 m and coarse wood chips with a grain
size of at least G 100.
Fuels specified in paragraph 3, section (1) items 6 and 7 (varnished,
coated wood or chipboard) may not be used.

MOISTURE
CONTENT
When selecting fuel, it is important to understand that the thermal
value of the wood is primarily dependent upon the moisture content.
For the purpose of simplifying calculations, you can assume that 1 kg
of wood (all types) with a moisture content of 20% has a thermal
value of approx. 4 kWh. Firewood must be split and its size must be
adapted accordingly to fit in the fuel chamber. Unsplit logs and
square boards are not suitable for burning.
Moreover, logs should be split before they are cured. This is done in
order to achieve a moisture content which is suitable for burning
within a reasonable amount of time (approx. two years). Moist,
unsplit wood has a negative impact on the combustion efficiency of
the boiler and results in higher fuel consumption.

HDG Bavaria recommends split logs with lengths of up to 1 m, a max.
edge length of 12 cm and a moisture content of 20%.
