Measurement recording
7.4 Markings on the wheel
Before starting the measurement you should
always apply markings to wheel and rim.
(e.g. using chalk).
•
The first marking is the starting point on the 1
st
tread lug.
Information for start and end of measurement
•
Also mark the 2
nd
tread lug. This information helps you to
repeat the selected direction of rotation of the wheel
during measurement.

A marking on the rim is also important for knowing the
exact position of the rim in relation to the tyre before and
after measurement in case of a possible matching
procedure.
